I remember people talking about whether programming is an art or not. I think at times it is. Especially when you have many different choices some of which are equally desirable. Sometimes there is a highly delayed gratification that you get from what you decide, and when you hit that point, you know it's art.

My favorite hobby: improving myself.
I would say everything in my life revolves around that, but that would be an oversimplification. But for sure, this is a very powerful force in my mind. I enjoy something if I can see that I can get better at it in a consistent manner. I don't like it that much when I can't get better at it anymore. In that case having a basis of comparison that I'm better from is one thing that still makes me like it. If I can't get better at it and the basis of comparison is better than me, I get desperate.

One of the best domains that this works is consciously improving my social skills.

Apparently I totally missed out on this hype. I thought podcasts were just mp3's you download from time to time and I found giving it another name kind of repulsive. I used a couple of podcasts but for me it was visiting a website and saving them to my computer.

I also kind of missed out on RSS feeds, too. I used a RSS client for a while and for me it was just reading the news in this client instead of the internet.

"Podcast", is actually RSS'ed mp3's that you automatically download and listen as the new stuff come up. I wish someone told this to me before :D
